In May 2007, Duratread 40.00-57 tires were put on test on Komatsu 730E Rigid Dump Trucks at the Xstrata Copper, Lomas Bayas mine in Chile.    

Carefully monitored by Duratread Mining Tire technicians in joint co-operation with Xstrata Copper staff, the Manager of Administration and Services, Francisco Rojas stated (November 2007).  

"Duratread Tires were selected to be used in Lomas Bayas after determining that with a combination of tire quality and the fact that Duratread could provide on site technical support, we could permit Duratread tires to be tested".  

"We can confirm that Duratread have delivered on output efficiency, service and technical support on the tires that were installed".   "All tires have been performing well, thanks to the joint work and co-operation of the Duratread technicians and the staff of Xstrata Copper, Lomas Bayas".

As a result of the excellent test performance of Duratread 40.00-57 tires, Xstrata Copper at Lomas Bayas will also put into test Duratread 45/65-45 L5 tires on dozer Komatsu WD 900 vehicles.   In addition, other Xstrata mines in Latin America are also putting Duratread 40.00-57 tires to the test.
